Like catching up with an old friend
Nicole made our experience more like catching up with an old friend than being herded through the typical tour experience. In the morning we were 3 couples, and the three hours passed quickly through the history of Orange, local identities, bush tucker, historic homes, – oh, and wine and lunch. We took an additional tour to Millthorpe- just the two of us- to see the lovely old town. Don’t miss the Museum. Did I mention 2 more wine tastings? Make it a point to take at least one of Nicole’s tours.
Insiders insight into Orange
Can not recommend Country Food Trails more highly. My partner and I don’t usually consider booking tours as they often fail to showcase the true spirit of a place and we prefer the flexibility of setting our own schedule. However, Nicole’s thoughtfully hand-picked experiences immediately appealed with its inclusion of smaller local businesses and off-the-beaten-track stops, and we were able to choose something that combined all the aspects we were drawn to the region to explore. Nicole was also happy to further customise the itinerary and catered to my dietary requirements with ease. We added on an indigenous food experience with Gerald who was not only incredibly knowledgeable and hilarious, he also introduced us to a wide variety of bush tucker and how to use various plants back home, as well as preparing a delicious spread. Sharon our guide was so warm and thoughtful, and such a pleasure to chat to on the drives between stops and on the walking tour of Milthorpe. Far from a stuffy ride for tourists, the whole experience felt like catching up with old friends, personalised and intimate, curated with consideration and care. We left with huge smiles and armed with an insiders insight into Orange. Thank you for such a wonderful afternoon, we’re already looking forward to the next trip.
